More pictures from Beograd,Serbia

Kalemegdan Fortress, a beautiful historic site right at the end of the main pedestrian throughfare in central Belgrade. It is a wonderful place for picnics, vendors, concerts, tourists and everyone says that even in the middle of the night, it is quite safe to walk there.

View along the Danube just near where the Sava River intersects it. Notice all the floating restaurants and river boats. Many of Belgrade's tourists arrive by boat rather than land.

Saint Sava's Temple; under construction. It will be the largest Orthedox church in the Balkans when it is finished. Inside they are still working on installing the various colors and types of granite from around the world. It is HUGE and is going to be absolutely mind bogglingly beautiful when completed. I hear that the inside will be mosaic tiles to go with the stained glass windows and various icon painters. Once square meter of mosaic painted tiles costs about 150-200 euros and while I don't know the actual size of the church, I can definately say that they'll need a lot of money to complete the inside. Notice the size of the person in the background behind me and Dubravka and you can get an idea of the size of the church.
